BIG PARK mini shred contest

Pro Contest on Saturday and Am Contest for everybody on Sunday!

Last years concept was a big success, so there will be an amateur mini shred contest on Sunday for everybody again with registration online here. Some of the registered riders will one more time get the chance to battle against the pro’s one day earlier at the BIG PARK mini shred contest in the kicker- and mini shred line!

If you always wanted to show your skills in a competition but never made it on a starting list – this is your chance! No matter if freeski or snowboard, male or female, sponsored or not – take part and impress the jury with your tricks in the mini shred park. Amazing prices, tickets for cool events and season passes are waiting for you. Get to know the park, train on Friday and Saturday and show what you can on Sunday.
You can register online (with the chance to take part at the Pro Contest) or directly at the riders office:
Fr. & Sat.:        8 am – 7 pm at Kaunertal Center in Feichten
Sun.:        9 am – 10.30 am at the glacier riders office (no starting spot guaranteed)

11.10 – 12.10 mini shred Amateur Session SNOWBOARD

13.00 – 13.10 riders meeting at the start / mini shred

14.15 – 14.30 pricegiving at the parking area

Format, Eventscoring & Judging

Session means you have 60 minutes to show your potential and to do as many runs as you like! 2 brand new mega obstacles will guarantee an exciting contest and give you the possibility to show your talent to the judges. The will have a special eye on: completion of the presented trick and the landing, variation, level of the trick, height and range of the tricks, progression and risk, smoothness of the run and course use – which means the use of all obstacles.

The number of participants is limited and spots are very demanded – so make sure you regster online in time. Your spot is only fixe though if you pay the starting fee in the race office and get your bib on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The earlier you come – the better chances you have to take part…

BIG PARK mini shred Pro Contest

We hope to welcome as many nameable freeski and snowboard riders as last year in Kaunertal as there the BIG PARK mini shred pro Contest will take place again as a kick of to the season. Additiinally 10 “Lucky One’s” will complete the starting list and make the competition even more exciting.
The riders have to compete in the mini shred and the kickerline/big air to receive a double-valuation.
To offer good conditions and to keep parts of the park also free for the visitors, the number of participants has been reduced to 30 people for each discipline.

The starting fields of 30 riders each will be composed as follows:
20 Pro Riders (m/f)
10 Lucky One’s (m/f)

They will battle for:

Best Man Overall
Best Woman Overall
Best Rookie (until 1990 year of birth)
Best Trick
Best Line

In total 7.000 US $ are waiting for the winners!

Format
All riders have 2 runs in every round – the better run counts for the total result of the round.
Qualification: 30 riders – 2 runs – the top 4 gents, the 2 top ladies and the best rookie are in the finals.

Event scoring & judging
Every run will be judged by 3 judges supervised by one head judge. Every judge is giving out points from 1 to 10 in every round. The highest valuation is a result of the overall impression of the run. Special attention from the judges will be on: completion of the presented trick and the landing, variation, level of the trick, height and range of the tricks, progression and risk, smoothness of the run and course use.

As last year, no online transfer of the starting fee will be possible.
You will be able to register online until one week before the event starts. (Thursday, 8.10.2009 evening). If you register until then, you will be taking part in the lottery for the battle with 20 pro riders at the Pro Contest.
These „Lucky One’s“ plus a short waiting list will be informed via e-mail on Friday, 9.10.2009. All others take part at the mini shred Amateur Contest on Sunday.
Sartingfee:
Pro Contest: until Friday, 16.10.2009 – 7 pm in the riders office in Feichten
If you do not pay until then you will be replaced by someone from the waiting list. BIB’s will be given out at the riders meeting.

Amateur Contest: until Saturday 17.10.2009 – 7 pm in the riders office in Feichten.
On Sunday, 18.10.2009 from 9 am to 10.30 am at the glacier riders office.
